                                                Summary of Encyclopaedia

Encyclopedia Britannica, Inc. is the company that publishes the worlds’ oldest continuously published encyclopedia.

It was founded by two men, a printer and an engraver in Scotland during the 18th century and during the 1930’s, moved its headquarters to North America where it kept a permanent editorial department.
Starting in 1936 the encyclopedia was printed and published each year.

In 1996, the company was sold to Jacqui Safra and has since experienced financial difficulties paying employees and contributors and a lot of cost reductions.
